FEES

Friedman Counseling Services, LLC, provides Ohio and Columbus-area couples (spouses, partners, and/or co-parents); adult individuals; and teenagers (age 15+) with counseling services that are both excellent and affordable. Typically, counseling costs range from $135 - $350 per session. To facilitate greater access to such services, Ruth's fees are as follows:

Couples Counseling for Spouses, Partners, and/or Co-Parents*

$100 Intake Couple's Session 

$90  Regular Couple's Session 

$135 Extended Couple's Session 

$80 Individual Couple's Session

*At the beginning of the Couples Counseling process, Ruth will schedule a 57-minute Intake Session attended by both spouses, partners, and/or co-parents. This allows Ruth to learn about the history of your relationship and what both persons hope to get out of counseling. In the week following the Intake Session, Ruth typically meets with each person alone for a 55-minute Individual Session. These Individual Sessions allow Ruth to better understand each person's unique experience of, and outlook on, the relationship. Then, Ruth coordinates with the partners to schedule joint 57-minute Couples Sessions; these sessions typically occur on a weekly or thrice-monthly basis depending on scheduling availability and the spouses, partners, and/or co-parents' needs. Ruth may also work with spouses, partners, and co-parents to schedule Extended Couples Sessions, which run for 85 minutes and are attended by both partners.

**At the beginning of the Individual Counseling process, Ruth will schedule a 57-minute Intake Session with the client. Following this Intake Session, Ruth will collaborate with the client to establish a consistent meeting schedule. Meetings may occur bi-weekly, weekly, or thrice-monthly depending on the client's availability and needs. Meetings may also be 57-minute Regular Sessions; 28-minute Half-Time Sessions; and/or 57-minute Joint Sessions with a partner or family member of the client (decisions about length/type of session are dependent on availability and client need).

The above-listed fees apply to both in-person and video-based counseling sessions. Payment is due at the time of service. Credit and debit cards, checks, cash, and FSA/HSA cards are accepted.

A sliding-fee-scale is available for clients with limited financial resources. Interested clients are encouraged to inquire about this sliding-fee-scale when scheduling an Intake Session.

Friedman Counseling Services, LLC, does not currently accept insurance. The majority of insurance companies have access to client diagnoses, which compromises the confidentiality of the counseling process. In addition, insurance companies may seek to control the number and length of sessions available to clients and the types of treatment that clinicians can provide.
